Hologram Cafe Grand Opening Event
June 20th, 2026 - Hologram Cafe (Richmond District, San Francisco, CA)
This project was developed to introduce a newly opened Filipino/Hawaiian-inspired café as both a coffee destination and a community gathering space. Beyond launching the business, the event aimed to establish the café as a neighborhood hub where people could connect through shared interests, creativity, and culture.
Working directly with the café owners, I helped develop event concepts that aligned with the broader vision of the space: creating opportunities for meaningful, in-person connection through community-driven programming.
My responsibilities included coordinating entertainment, managing DJ partnerships, facilitating communications between owner and vendors, city permitting, and supporting event execution from planning through day-of operations. In collaboration with Brews & Bounce, a local collective known for bringing together music, craft beverages, and community, the event featured a curated lineup of DJs that activated the space and encouraged engagement among attendees.
The grand opening served as a proof of concept for future programming, demonstrating the café's potential as a third space within the neighborhood. In an area with limited community-focused gathering opportunities outside of bars and nightlife, the event highlighted the demand for accessible, alcohol-free experiences centered around culture, creativity, and connection.
Outcomes
Successfully launched the café's community-centered brand identity
Activated the space beyond traditional café operations
Introduced partnerships with local creative and cultural organizations
Demonstrated the viability of recurring community events within the venue
Created opportunities for neighborhood engagement through an alcohol-free social experience
